For my kids' neighborhood grade school, I had mostly driven on a few field trips, but otherwise my wife did most of the volunteering. Then, when my older daughter moved on to our much larger local middle school, I started spending time volunteering at the school. At some point, I said "yes" when asked to be Volunteer Coordinator for the PTSA. Then, one "yes" led to another...
